[She gives a small nod, smiling that Hiro is asleep in Tadashi's room. Well... if he wants her to leave her shoes on, she will. ]

[ with his hands behind his back, he leads the way to the kitchen. the kitchen is neat and orderly, and nothing seems to be out of place. things are rather easy to find since tadashi keeps everything tidy and where they should be. ]

Sorry for making you do the work. If you'd like some snacks, I can prepare some for you.

[She gave a small wave, dismissing the issue.]

Tea often helps in many situations, are you hungry? You don't have to prepare anything for me, Tadashi. [She pulls everything out, making sure to not let anything clang or bang loudly, not only would that be rude to Tadashi regarding his property, but also because she didn't want to wake Hiro.]

What did you wish to discuss? [It would take a few minutes for the water to boil.]

[ he rubs the back of his neck, not sure if he should get straight to the point or prolong the niceties and tell her over tea. . . he always seems to rub the back of his neck, massaging it, when he's tense. it's become a habit for him ever since he-- well; ]

This isn't a secret or anything, but it's not something I openly talk about, either. [ he heaves out a deep sigh. ] And you might want to sit down for this.

[ okay... lay down the opening very carefully. he'll wait for ami's reaction to that before continuing. ]

Ah, if you feel it best. [She noticed the neck rubbing, but looked about before taking a seat, keeping an ear on the tea pot and the boiling water within. She placed her folded hands in her lap.]

Tadashi, whatever it is, I assure you, I'm not going to overreact. [That much she could promise.]

[ he rests his back on the counter, eyes fixated on the floor. ]

Remember those burn marks and the scars you saw on my arms? [ he is definitely hiding those, now. his arms look even worse now than they were before. ]

That's because I got caught in an explosion before coming here.

[ you're smart, ami... you can figure this out. ]

[She took a deep breath and was able to piece it together easily. She stood up. It wasn't that she wasn't used to death. As a senshi, she had died to save her planet and princess. She was, however, a senshi. She could be reborn and remade so long as her crystal was intact. She was granted an incredibly long lifespan even outside of that. But Tadashi, as far as she could tell, was very much human. A very sweet human, but human nonetheless. Scarred and covered in burns...]

You... died in that explosion... [She stood up and reached out, a gentle hand on his elbow.] And again... in the jungle. Tadashi, I'm so sorry...

It's— [ it's not nothing. . . he still laments his own death (the first one) even up to now, but he doesn't want the conversation to drag on to be so depressing, either. ] fine.

I'm fine now.

[She moved to hold his hand, not willing to hug him as they weren't that close yet, but wanting to give him some form of comfort. She bit her lip.]

Tadashi, I will do everything I can to protect you and Hiro from another fire whenever I'm near. [Short of it being magical, she can usually put out any fire.]

[ his cheeks flush pink a little bit and he looks away, though he doesn't pull away from ami's hand. ]

My luck's really bad, huh? Died in a fire twice. I should just really stay away from any fires in this place.

[ a beat. ]

Thanks, though. For caring. I appreciate it.

[His blushing made her blush a little deeper, but she wasn't going to pull away, not from this.]

Mnn, it does seem like it. But, you know, fires never last long around me. [She wondered... well, Rei had mentioned that Hiro already knew she was Mars. Perhaps Tadashi should... She cleared her throat.] You aren't so unlucky. You have a brother who adores you, and a friend of water.

And I care because you're my friend. I suppose, there's something I can show you, to really explain what I mean about the fires.

[ ami being cryptic has definitely gotten tadashi curious. and he's glad that ami's willing to tell him something without him having to ask. ]

What is it?

[ prepare for him to geek out about magical girls later, though. ]

[She held her hand up and, while not yelling, she said loudly "Mercury Crystal Power." The flash of blue light and her being surrounded by it was too sudden to react to. Standing in Ami's place was the guardian of knowledge, Eternal Sailor Mercury. Had she not transformed right in front of Tadashi, it might be hard to remember that Ami and Mercury were one and the same. Still, she smiled, a bit more confident as Sailor Mercury, and even a tad different physically in this form.]

I am Sailor Mercury, guardian of knowledge and justice. I am also the guardian of water.

[ tadashi just kind of stands there, stunned.

and after a few seconds, he asks a question with a very obvious answer to it. (please excuse him from gawking. it's not entirely his fault.) ]

Diiiiid you just transform?

Indeed, I did. I am both Ami Mizuno and Sailor Mercury. [Though they weren't necessarily the exact same person.] I am the guardian of the planet Mercury and a guardian of earth.

Oh wow. This is big.

[ he's trying to hide a smile on his face by biting his lip, but he can't help it at all. there's just too much awesomeness happening right now. ]

It is, but I showed you this out of great trust. This cannot be repeated to anyone else not even to Hiro. But I also told you this, because every sailor senshi controls an element. I control water and all of its forms. [You're smart, Tadashi, you can put this together.]

[ not even hiro, huh? alright. he nods solemnly. ]

I'll keep your secret, don't worry. [ a beat. ] Thanks for the trust, and for... the protection, I guess. It's- I really hope I don't get into a situation like that again, but it's nice to know that there's somebody out there looking out for me.

[ that isn't hiro, obviously. ]

[Not yet, anyways.]

If you do, you can always call on me. But I rather you not get into a situation like that either, for both your and Hiro's sake. [She knew what it was like to watch a loved one get deeply injured, even killed, in front of her. She tilted her head.] Well, before Hiro wakes up, I'm going back to civilian form.

[ he's still so dazed, so he chuckles a bit before responding. ]

Y- Yeah. This is amazing, I can't believe it. You're a magical girl!

[Being in this form gives her heightened senses, plus, she's always been connected to sound, so she can't help but grin at his mumbling.] I'm the last Mercurian back home. [She is also the princess of that planet, but she rather not bring that up yet.]

Let me get this straight... not judging you or anything, but you're from Mercury?

Mnn, it's a long story, but the short answer is, "yes." Though the longer version involves being reborn as human on earth.

Well, we can talk about that some other time.

[ when she's more comfortable talking about it. that said, mochi the fat cat enters the scene and rubs himself on ami's legs. ]

Oh, that's Mochi, our pet cat. He's not a CYbuddy.

[It doesn't take her long to get back into civilian form. As quick as it did to transform, but once she's back in her normal clothes she is quick to pick up Mochi. She adores cats. They're her favorite animal.]

Oh he's so cute! I love cats! [Ami scratched under Mochi's chin, pleased to hear the cat purr.]
