[ a small smile crosses his lips when ami takes his hand, and at this moment of vulnerability, he clasps his fingers with ami's. ]

Of course. [She doesn't blush at his holding her hand (alright, she blushes a teeny tiny bit). But right now her focus is on making Tadashi feel better, especially at the loss of those he was with.]

[ he gives a detailed summary:

They are natives of Occidi's clan, the Earth elemental. For the most part, Ardeo's people live further north in the volcanic area, and Caeli's people live in the mountains even further north. Maris' people can be found further south by the ocean.

The natives entered a contract with CERES -- only some of Ardeo's people and Occidi's people agreed. Maris' people refused, and Caeli's people were never found.

This contract involved agreement to allow CERES to build on Tellus, but they were unaware that it would involve a colony such as Cerealia, and the destruction that building that involved.

They will also bring up "sacrifices", but can't seem to articulate who is doing the sacrificing and why. ]

It's not a lot, but we definitely learned more about CERES now.

[She stayed beside him the entire time he talked. She didn't ask any questions, holding all of them until later so her could get it all out. She merely keeps a hold of his hand, allowing him to just talk until there's nothing more to be talked about.]

That's wonderful, I suppose the question, then, is what will we do with that information. CERES knows now that you know, the question is now whether they care. Were you able to get any more information about the alien race CERES claims destroyed the planets?

[ he shakes his head. ]

They stopped talking about anything after they mentioned sacrifices.

.... Then we'll have to figure out what bothers them about sacrifices, and just who was doing the sacrificing. Who gave you the most information of the spirits?

The villagers. We stayed at their village for a little while and camped out in the evening. They were trying to kill us at first, but Hiccup and Toothless were able to get them to talk to us.

[ he reclines in his seat and lets out a deep sigh. it's pretty nice having somebody to talk to about this. he just needs to release his stress. ]

Ah, I am familiar with Hiccup-san, I'm glad he was there. [Though she had no clue who "Toothless" was.] I'm gladder still that the villagers could-

Wait... [Her mind suddenly realized.] You understood the villagers and they understood you?

[ he tilts his head a bit, confused. ]

Yeah. It's been that way since our first time in the jungle.

[ when they were asking what kind of people they were, etc. but maybe it was just for those who were with occidi. ]

I assure you, that is quite new knowledge to me, there were no villagers when I was on the beach, only a kraken, and he was not inclined to listen to polite conversation.

[ of course, he doesn't have them with him right now. they're back at his apartment. he figures he'll return it to him the next time they meet. ]

Well... those are for food and animals, I suppose we can add the villagers to the animals one. [She has a system she doesn't like it messed with!] It would be best. Although, I do want the journals made available to the rest of the populace, especially since so many tend to return to the jungle.

[ it's clear tadashi's calmed down from the sound of his voice. and their orders get served, as well, too. he wonders if ami'd go back to her own chair or not, but this is fine where they are. he hasn't even noticed that he hasn't taken his hand away from hers, yet. ]

I've typed up all the data in your journals and digitised them, so there shouldn't be any problem sharing the information if you'd like that.

[Ami doesn't really see the need to move, and she hasn't noticed either, quite content to offer her support and stay by his side. She smiled, though, when he mentioned he already digitized them.]

Tadashi that's wonderful! Thank you! I would be very eager to share that information. I wouldn't want such important knowledge kept secret.

And I wouldn't want something as important as your journals to have gotten destroyed.

[She blushed a tiny bit.] Well, thank you for taking care of them, I'm more glad you and Hiro came back safe, though. Looks like you don't have to worry about never achieving a scientific breakthrough.

I did say I'm not the type to break promises.

[She chuckled.] So you did. Well, I'm really glad to have entrusted you with them, then. I won't have you make promises to me often, then, as they aren't things to take lightly.

I'll return them to you the next time we meet, along with my own notes.

[ he lets out a chortle. ]

I just hope you can read my handwriting.

[ and oh. oh. that's when he realises that their hands are still linked to one another. tadashi blinks in surprise and slowly pulls away. ]

I, uh, sorry. [ he says, looking elsewhere. his voice may have gone a couple pitches up as he apologised. this is awkward. ]

[Ami seemed to blush and realized that she also had their hands linked. She pulled away, beet-red in the face.]

I-It's fine. [Since she was the one who initiated the hand holding... She suddenly realized she was too close and scooted away.]

I'm sorry too... ah but ah... thank you for lunch. I appreciate it.

I-I-It's honestly a very nice cafe, I've not eaten here before. I-I-I tend to always eat at the apartment or take lunch to work.

The food's good, and this is a nice place to be when you want to brainstorm since it's so quiet and private.
